Because the bands are broad on purpose. The text is graded, not you — every lesson carries all four levels, so an A2 reader and a B1 reader read the same story and each gets the version that stretches them by exactly the right amount. And if the band turns out to be wrong, nothing needs fixing — tap a different level at the top of any lesson and the whole story re-reads itself. Nobody gets labelled "the beginner".
